Over the weekend, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hosted 100 of his closest donors at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
DeSantis invited guests to the location to say “Thank you” for the continued support and to foreshadow what might be next on his agenda. While the topic of another presidential race in 2028 never arose, guests who attended the event said they could read between the lines.
While the Governor didn’t address a future White House run, he did state that he believes two highly publicized ballot measures—recreational marijuana and state abortion protections—will fail in the upcoming November elections.
Despite jabbing at Trump, saying that he “is looking more in identity politics,” DeSantis was respectful of the Republican nominee. DeSantis did not gamble at the casino.
